Revise before Evaluation II
The II Evaluation test will be on December 11. Russian subgroups will be joined to write the test at 12:55- 14: 15. In order to write it successfully you need to revise:
- 1) Advantages and Disadvantages of Video Resumes
- 2) How to deliver a Public Speech: what standards should be followed; how to outline a speech, what to begin and end with.
- 3) Usage of body language and visual aids in Public Speaking.
- 4) Communication in teams and groups.
- 5) Types of questions and questioning techniques.
- 6) Stage Fright: how it is manifested, when and why it occurs.

Before the Exam
The examination for communication techniques is planned for January 15th, 2013 at 10:00. It will be in oral form. The list of topics and notions to define can be found here.
In order to be admited for the exam, you have to present the following:
The day when other teachers will assist our lesson and you will demonstrate your best Video Resumes and best Public Speeches will be December 11th at 14:20, room 24.
Therefore, Russian subgroup 206A will be united with 205A at 12:55-14:15 to write the evaluation test and present the debts in Room 42. And Romanian group, PLEASE, do not plan anything for this time and come for the 3rd session that day!
Students who to my mind had the most creative CV and SHOULD definetely be a part of this show are:
- Pasa Olga;
- Majei Iana;
- Nicolai Adriana;
- Bujor Lilia;
- Titula Natalia;
- Belikova Alla;
- Malachi Marina
Those whom I did not mention above, but who have a great desire to present are welcome as well.
Also I thought that it would be a great idea if we organize a closing party. We can combine Video CV presentation with some snacks and drinks, and discuss our successes and pitfalls in a relaxed atmosphere afterwards. Please, let me know what you think. Leave Comments!

- Online tasks, blog posts;
- Video CV;
- 2 evaluation tests;
- In-class project presentation = individual work;
- Public speech.
PORTFOLIO is due on December 4th, 2012. IT SHOULD BE HOUSED IN A FOLDER OR PLASTIC DISPLAY CASE AND CONTAIN:
1)
Title Page: included at the
front of the of the Portfolio, with title “My Portfolio”, first and last name,
the course name, date, instructor’s name and institution.
2)
Reflection Paper: 1-2 pages.
Discusses the following: “Challenges I have faced in this course and how I have
overcome them. How my speaking skills in English have improved since the beginning
of this course; what I have learnt in this course that I will apply in the
future.”
3)
Materials:
·
Text “Soft Sell” Character analysis graphics;
·
Grammar exercises: gerunds and infinitives with translation;
·
Quizzes and tests done during the semester (body idioms and gerunds);
4)
Personal CV
5) Reflection paper on the Video Resume
6) Translation of Cover and Recommendation letter from the course pack
7) Handout for your individual project
